Artemis, the daughter
of Zeus and Leto, was the goddess of hunting, of wild
animals, and of archery. Also she was the goddess of
childbirth, of nature, and of the harvest. She was traditionally
the friend and protector of youth, especially young women.
Her favorite animal was the stag and she was not slow
to punish those who killed, inadvertently or otherwise,
her prize animals. A case in point is the time when Agamemnon
slew one of her stags and Artemis detained the Greek
fleet at Aulis, on its way to Troy, there extracting
the sacrifice of Agamemnon's daughter, Iphigenia. This
magnificent item was made in Athens, Greece, with "AAA"
high quality white cast marble and stands at an incredible
height of 17" inches. It is a glorification of elegance and
beauty, a marvelous representation of combining youth and
nature at their best. Excellent decoration and gift item.

The goddess of
hunting, of wild animals, and of archery, the lady of the
forest (her Roman counterpart is Diana). Like her twin brother
Apollo, she hunts with silver arrows. Also she was the
goddess of childbirth, of nature, and of the harvest. She
was traditionally the friend and protector of youth, especially
young women. She was one of the three virgin goddesses
along with Athena and Hestia. As the moon goddess, she
was sometimes identified with the goddesses Selene and
Hecate. She also presided over childbirth, which may seen
odd for a virgin, but goes back to causing her mother no
pain when she was born. All wild animals were sacred to
her, especially the stag, and she was not slow to punish
those who killed, inadvertently or otherwise, her prize
animals. A case in point is the time when Agamemnon slew
one of her stags and Artemis detained the Greek fleet
at Aulis, on its way to Troy, there extracting the sacrifice
of Agamemnon's daughter, Iphigenia. She was also the protecting
deity of the Amazons, who, like her, were worriers and
huntresses and independent of men. The cypress was her
tree. This elegant statue of Artemis is hand-made in Greece of
high quality "AAA" white cast marble and stands at 8.34". It
splendidly manifests Artemis' free spirit, all that is
beautiful and pure in a woman, a marvelous combination
of youth and nature at their best. Aim high and far and

Mary was visited by the angel Gabriel, who announced to
her that she was to be the vessel of the coming of the

Christians as "the Immaculate Conception." After the crucifixion

the Blessed Virgin, who intercedes for those on earth.

In Greek mythology,
the winged goddess of victory, especially in war but
also in athletic contests, daughter of the giant Pallas
and the Okeanid nymph Styx. She was often identified
with the goddess Athena and in Roman times with Victoria.
She aided Zeus and the Olympian gods in subduing the rebellious
Titans and attained great popularity after the Greek
victory in the Persian Wars. In art, Nike was always
represented as holding a palm branch, a wreath, and sometimes
a trophy of armor. The most magnificent artistic representation
of Nike is the "Nike of Samothrace," discovered in Samothrace,
a Greek island in the northern Aegean Sea off the Thracian
cost, in 1863. It was probably erected by Phodians about
203 BC to commemorate a sea battle and is now in Louvre,
Paris. This masterpiece is hand-made in Greece of high
quality "AAA" white cast marble by expert Greek craftsman
and stands at 14.5". The name Nike of Samothrace in Greek is
imprinted at the base of the statue. It beautifully and
powerfully manifests victory and success in all undertakings.

In Greek legend, the
god of sun Helios every day drove his sun chariot across
the sky, pulled by magical horses, shedding light over
the face of the world, and disappearing at night. Phaethon,
the son of Helios, got into an argument with Epaphos,
a son of Zeus and Io, concerning his parentage and implored
his father to prove that he was indeed his son by allowing
him to drive his sun chariot across the sky for one day.
Resisting the idea at first, Helios finally gave in and
Phaethon rode the chariot of the sun. But Phaethon could
not control the horses and the chariot went out of control
causing widespread damage upon the Earth below. Zeus,
alarmed at the further damage that the son of Helios could
cause, struck him dead. This elegant, refined-detailed statue
is hand-made in Greece of high quality "AAA" white cast

Minotauros in Greek
(Minos' bull) was the fearsome monster of Crete, in Greek
mythology, that had the body of a man and the head of
a bull. It was the offspring of Pasiphae, the wife of the
King of Crete Minos, and a beautiful snow-white bull sent
to Minos by the god of sea Poseidon for sacrifice. When
Minos refused to sacrifice the bull, the god inspired
in Pasiphae an unnatural love for the animal, and the
monstrous offspring of this union Minotaur was confined in the
Labyrinth (a maze so cleverly and intricately constructed by
the artist-inventor Deadalus that once thrown inside, one
could never find the way out). To avenge his son's death
by the Athenians, Minos demanded that seven Athenian
youths and seven maidens should be sent yearly to be
devoured by the Minotaur. Resolving to end this shameful
practice, Theseus, son of the King of Attica Aegeus,
offered himself as one of the sacrificial victims. Minos'
daughter Ariadne fell in love with Theseus and gave him
a magic sword and a skein of thread. Theseus killed the
Minotaur and found his way out of the Labyrinth by following
the trail of thread he had laid upon entering. This
overwhelming statue is hand-made in Greece of high quality
"AAA" white cast marble, stands at 13.4", and weighs
4 pounds. It is a very beautiful and powerful piece of
decoration.
Dolphins are mentioned in the works of Aristotle, Aesop, Herodotus, Plinys, and other writers often as a child's mount or the rescuers of someone lost in the sea. Classical literature provides numerous tales of dolphins and their relationship with man. Plutarch's account of a dolphin's rescue from drowning of Telemachus, son of Oddeseus, is one of the many examples in Greek and Roman mythology of the creature's friendly attitude toward humans. The dolphin was Apollo's (the god of music, light, and truth in ancient Greek mythology) animal. This beautiful depiction of three dolphins racing is hand-made in Greece of high quality "AAA" white cast marble by expert Greek craftsman and is 12.5" long. Excellent decoration item or gift.
